Invasive alien species’ distribution change in time
EASIN has expanded its tools to make information on alien species in Europe more easily available and useful.
The new released dynamic maps show the distribution over time of invasive alien species of Union concern, listed under EU Regulation 1143/2014.
Reference data include the baseline distributions of species of Union concern and the early detections of species of Union concern submitted by Member States Competent Authorities through NOTSYS, which are displayed as points.
Trough the menu voice Services you can access the Dynamic Maps. By clicking on the magnifying glass you can search for the species of your interest. The map will show how the distribution of the species on the European territory changes from the year of inclusion in the Union list to date. You can pause the map to carefully analyze the distribution of a species in a specific year.
If you want to extract the relevant temporal dataset you can do so by accessing Species Mapper, searching for a species and selecting ‘Occurrences Year Range’.
