A new Data Partner joins EASIN network
EASIN is glad to announce that its network enjoys a new data partner: the Croatian national Competent Authority on invasive alien species!
Member States Competent Authorities (CAs) operate surveillance systems, monitor, report the presence and manage invasive alien species (IAS) of Union concern on their territory protecting European biodiversity, as required by Art. 16 of the EU Regulation 1143/2014. The collaboration between EASIN and MS CAs led to the preparation of baseline distributions of regulated species across Europe.
Local authorities, managers, stakeholders and citizens can find information on monitoring and reporting of IAS, obligations and management measures in a country in the national language accessing the EASIN webpage on national CAs. Swift sharing of updated data across Europe is fundamental for the effective implementation of the EU Regulation on IAS. Data shared through EASIN are acknowledged to the original source and recognizable.
We warmly welcome and thank very much Croatia for joining the EASIN network and sharing 30,526 spatial records on the distribution of 272 alien species.
