EASIN - European Alien Species Information Network
How to make Citizen Science and IAS apps data useful for EU policies?
The development of new technologies such as smartphone applications can support the generation of citizens’ georeferenced records of Invasive Alien Species (IAS), and complement professional observations schemes.
The development of new technologies such as smartphone applications can support the generation of citizens’ georeferenced records of Invasive Alien Species (IAS), and complement professional observations schemes.
The efficient use of these citizen science (CS) tools needs to be ensured through collaboration among existing actions on IAS.
A 2-days workshop held in JRC (Ispra) will bring together national Competent Authorities responsible for the EU Regulation on IAS, researchers, representatives of COST Actions and LIFE programmes and other relevant projects with the ultimate goal of strengthening the link between IAS CS data and policy.
