• Traineeship Opportunity

EASIN is looking for a trainee in the context of its activities on alien species

Invasive Alien Species (IAS) are one of the main threats to biodiversity, causing significant environmental, economic and health damages. The success of the EU Regulation aiming to tackle IAS depends inter alia on access to quality data on species and their distribution.

The main goal is to contribute to reviewing spatial information on alien species present in Europe (e.g. pathways of introduction). Such information is essential to the understanding of invasion processes in support to the prevention of new invasions. The outcome data will integrate the JRC-EASIN (official information system of the IAS Regulation). A tailored training on the architecture and functioning of EASIN will be provided to the successful applicant.
