    SIBIC: Iberian Society of Ichthyology

EASIN is an information system on alien species in Europe, which data come from a network of Data Partners. Its aim is to play a complementary and additive role to existing databases and information systems facilitating access to scientific information and spatial data to researchers, national competent authorities, policy makers and managers. EASIN is committed to extend the network of Data Partners, and invites data owners, such as databases, Universities, Research Institutes, scientists and citizen science projects to share data sets and expertise on Alien Species occurring in Europe, increasing the visibility of their work and their impact.

We Welcome SIBIC - Iberian Society of Ichthyology as EASIN Data Partner! The main objective of the society is to promote the study and conservation of native fishes of inland and marine aquatic ecosystems in the Iberian Peninsula. In 2010, a group of researchers and managers held the constituent meeting in Lleida to gather around SIBIC the collective efforts of professionals working in the study and conservation of native fishes of the Iberian Peninsula.
