The European Commission has launched a new global coalition on biodiversity
The European Commission has launched a new global coalition on biodiversity to raise awareness about the need for its protection, ahead of the Conference of the Parties (CoP) 15 meeting of the Convention on Biological Diversity in 2021.
The focus of the coalition is on coordinated actions with tangible impact aimed at bending the curve of biodiversity loss. To this aim, the variety of institutions joining the coalition (national parks, aquariums, botanic gardens, zoos, science and natural history museums, research centres) will inform and engage the public through their natural collections, education and conservation programmes.
EASIN, aiming at protecting European native biodiversity, supports the #UnitedforBiodiversity communication campaign and invites its data partners, collaborators, Member States authorities and citizen scientists to get involved!
