The LIFE ARTEMIS project aims to contribute to the reduction of the harmful impacts of invasive alien species (IAS) on biodiversity by increasing public awareness and by setting up an efficient early warning and rapid response (EWRR) system to manage their impacts on forests in Slovenia.
EASIN welcomes LIFE ARTEMIS Slovenia to his network of data partners!
The LIFE ARTEMIS project aims to contribute to the reduction of the harmful impacts of invasive alien species (IAS) on biodiversity by increasing public awareness and by setting up an efficient early warning and rapid response (EWRR) system to manage their impacts on forests in Slovenia.
The project also collects Citizen Science records through a web application and mobile application, and connects several existing information systems that already collect information about IAS in Slovenia.
LIFE ARTEMIS Slovenia has provided EASIN with more than 56,000 spatial records on 66 IAS, including 4 of Union concern according to the EU Regulation 1143/2014, contributing to updating the knowledge on alien species recorded in Europe, and to the enrichment of the EASIN spatial data, available to users via web services.
Researchers and organizations are invited to contribute to EASIN project by joining the network and share spatial data on alien species occurring in Europe, benefiting both research and management of alien species: further details and contacts can be found here.
