The EPPO Council reiterates that “Intercontinental movement of soil associated with plants for planting is high risk for plant health”, with possible introduction of pests.
Current EU measures need to be strengthened, considering however the impact on trade. An ISPM on Movement of growing media in association with plants for planting in international trade is going to be approved and will constitute the basis for further EPPO work on this subject in 2017.
