The conference aims at taking stock of the present-day scientific knowledge on the North Sea ecosystem, its interactions with human activities and its management.
All presenters will be challenged to reflect current and future challenges for the North Sea management and in particular explore possible on nature-based solutions for addressing them.
This stock take will form the basis of participatory discussions using innovative formats that will explore and challenge the knowledge base for sustainable management of the North Sea throughout the conference.
The conference ultimately aims at formulating advices towards a Marine Strategy Framework Directive-compliant research and management plan for the North Sea.
