Hello, Reviewing horizon scanning articles for present emerging or future potential IAS, the species Cyperus alterniflorus was listed (in: Carboneras, C., Genovesi, P., Vila, M. et al. (2018) A prioritised list of invasive alien species to assist the effective implementation of EU legislation. Journal of Applied Ecology 55). Is C.alterniflorus synonymous to C.alternifolius, which we have already in the catalogue as C.involucratus? If not, which one is it: C.alterniflorus R.Br. (= C.alternifolius Steud.) or C.alterniflorus Schwein (= Cyperus schweinitzii Torr.), and should it be added to the Catalogue?
