Thread Opening Text: Should the name of the insect in the EASIN Catalogue be changed to Daktulosphaira vitifoliae (Fitch 1855)?
Alain ROQUES 3/4/2018 - 5:06 PM
I believe Viteus vitifoliae has effectively to be changed into Daktulosphaira vitifoliae (Fitch 1855), because it is a junior synonym according to the recent revision of the family in Favert et al. (2016). Catalog of the Phylloxeridae of the world. Zookeys 629: 83–101. However, a problem is that Fauna Europaea is still using Viteus vitifoliae for this species.
