Hi, 
This is to double check the information recorded in the Catalogue for 'Candidatus Phytoplasma trifolii'.
Could you please confirm that the first record of its introduction in Europe dates to Italy 2004?
Could you please state what is the native range (countries) of this species? Is it partly native also in Italy?

The first published report of the 'Candidatus Phytoplasma trifolii' is in Italy in 2004 as reported. There is a French strain of this phytoplasma from alfalfa maintained in periwinkle collection (University of Bologna) collected by Morvan earlier (more details are not available, probably around 1980). This allow to assess that it is partly native in Europe in particular France and Italy. The Countries in which the phytoplasma is known to be mainly spread presently are India, Iran, USA and Canada.
