Thread Opening Text: Mediterranean specimens have been reported by Galil & Goren (2014) as Saurida macrolepis. Which is the correct binomial name?
Argyro ZENETOS 5/6/2014 - 1:59 PM
in most databases, including WoRMS, we see S. undosquamis as a valid name. However in AquaNIS we see 2 distinct species S. undosquamis and S. macrolepis. Needs further investigation to see if we deal with one or two species.

On my request Prof Dani Golani on 20 May 2014 wrote: There is only one species of Saurida in the Mediterranean. Now we know that it is neither undosquamis nor macrolepis. Shortly we are going to publish our results.
