Thread Opening Text: New entry for the EASIN Catalogue, based on Monniot F., 2016. Microcosmus anchylodeirus (Ascidiacea, Pyuridae) introduced in the Mediterranean Sea. Zootaxa 4175 (3): 222–230.

Based on the source (Monniot 2016) the species origin is unknown. Should it be listed as cryptogenic?

Hi, I found some correspondence between us on this matter from November 2016. "Hi, According to this terminology. I think that Microcosmus anchylodeirus should be considered as "Alien". I am positive it is not native to the Mediterranean. " It is true that Francoise wrote the source is unknown but it is definitely introduced, and the source can be figured out maybe by future molecular analysis.

Thread Closing Text: to be added in EASIN Catalogue as "alien"
