Recent study based on gentic studies have shown two distinct fungal species: - Calonectria pseudonaviculata sensu stricto (already in EASIN Catalogue) - Calonectria henricotiae sp. nov. Should this species be include in EASIN Catalogue, with which status? Gehesquière B, Crouch J, Marra R, Van Poucke K, Rys F, Maes M, Gobin B, Höfte M, Heungens K (2016) Characterization and taxonomic re-assessment of the box blight pathogen Calonectria pseudonaviculata, introducing Calonectria henricotiae sp. nov. Plant Pathology 65(1), 37-52.

Based on Gehesquière et al. (2016) Calonectria pseudonaviculata and Calonectria henricotiae sp. nov. are 2 distinct taxa. As for C. pseudonaviculata, C. hernicotiae is consideed alien to Europe even if no info are still provided on area of origin of the sppeciies. Furthermore, by now, the species has been reported only in Europe. I would suggest the inclusion in the EASIN database as cryptic species at least until further info will be acquired on pathways of invasion from other regions
