The current EU geographical distribution of the Invasive Alien Species (IAS) added to the list of Union concern by the is set through a JRC technical report.
This is a result of a close collaboration between DG Environment, Member States Competent Authorities and EASIN for the implementation of the EU Regulation 1143/2014 on IAS. The baseline results from the assessment of occurrences and distribution data aggregated through EASIN, submitted for verification to all Member States Competent Authorities.
The established spatial baseline is crucial for the tracking of new detections of IAS of Union concern in uninfested areas. Thus, the current baseline, together with , constitutes an important tool supporting the implementation of the IAS Regulation, and also provides a factual basis for the review of its application.
