  • Alien Species Geodatabase v.5.5

    28Sep2020

The EASIN Geodatabase now includes 53,460,163 observations

    • AlienSpecies
    • Geodatabase

The EASIN Geodatabase hosts the occurrences of Alien Species in Europe from extraction of spatial data coming from a network of Data Partners, on the basis of the species contained in the EASIN Catalogue.

Data collected can be visualized on the EASIN Species Search and Mapping tool, where the maps show the presence of alien species at country, grid, river basin district and marine ecoregion level. The maps generated can be downloaded and exported. In addition, data collected through the Alien Species Geodatabase contributed to the preparation of the baseline distributions of species of Union Concern under EU Regulation 1143/2014.

Updated version 5.5 of the EASIN Geodatabase also includes more than 400 validated citizen science observations from the "Invasive Alien Species in Europe" app.
